Mumbai, April 2, 2026 – Jupiter Life Line Hospitals has won a bid from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for ₹354 crore to acquire a land parcel in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). The healthcare group plans to develop a 400-bed multi-specialty hospital on the site, marking a major expansion in one of the city’s busiest commercial districts.

The hospital will be constructed on approximately 10,026 square meters of land, allotted on an 80-year lease by MMRDA. The project will proceed following all necessary regulatory approvals. Once operational, it is expected to significantly enhance healthcare capacity in BKC, a hub known for its corporate offices, financial institutions, and residential developments.

Strategic Expansion in Western India

The BKC hospital forms a critical part of Jupiter Life Line Hospitals’ broader expansion strategy in western India. The group currently operates four hospitals, including a facility in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and has three additional hospitals under construction, including the newly announced BKC project.

Ankit Thakker, Joint Managing Director and CEO of Jupiter Life Line Hospitals, said the expansion aligns with the company’s vision to strengthen its presence in high-demand healthcare markets. “The new 400-bed hospital in BKC will improve access to tertiary and advanced medical services for people living and working in the area,” he added.

Rising Healthcare Demand in BKC

Bandra Kurla Complex has emerged as one of Mumbai’s premier business and financial districts, hosting major corporate offices, multinational companies, banks, and government institutions. With increasing workforce and residential populations, the demand for quality healthcare services in the area is rising.

The new facility is expected to meet this demand by providing advanced medical services and specialized care, further strengthening Mumbai’s healthcare ecosystem while expanding Jupiter Life Line Hospitals’ footprint in a key commercial hub.
