New Delhi, April 2, 2026: Fresenius Medical Care India has successfully conducted its first Dialysis Technician Certification Training Programme, training over 200 dialysis technicians across the country. The initiative marks a significant step toward strengthening kidney care delivery in India.
The programme, organized in collaboration with Epitome Kidney Urology Institute and Lions Hospital, aimed to equip technicians with practical skills beyond traditional classroom education. Dialysis technicians play a critical role in patient safety and the smooth functioning of dialysis units, making structured training essential for quality healthcare delivery.
The one-day certification covered key areas such as infection control, dialysis adequacy, advanced dialysis therapies, alarm handling, and management of dialysis-related complications. Participants also received hands-on exposure to HDF-enabled dialysis machines, medical-grade water treatment systems, and digitized patient data reporting platforms.
Dr. Vijay Kher, Chairman of Nephrology & Kidney Transplant at Epitome Hospital, said, “The programme was designed by healthcare professionals for healthcare professionals, focusing on evidence-based and practical learning.”
Dr. Ajay Kher, Medical Director and Nephrologist at Epitome Hospital, emphasized that the initiative aligns with the hospital’s mission to deliver patient-centric care and develop a skilled workforce.
Tarun Kaushik, Medical Director of Fresenius Medical Care India, added that advancing clinical knowledge is equally important as technological innovation in kidney care, while Bhaskar Guha highlighted the company’s commitment to improving access to high-quality dialysis services by empowering technicians with best practices.
The training programme reflects a growing emphasis on structured skill development for dialysis staff in India and underscores Fresenius Medical Care India’s efforts to enhance the overall quality and safety of kidney care services.
