Here’s a polished news-format rewrite of your press release:

New Delhi, April 2, 2026 – Apollo Hospitals has announced a major initiative to enhance patient transfer capabilities through coordinated air ambulance services across India and internationally. The move aims to provide faster, more organised access to advanced critical care for patients in urgent need.

Under the initiative, Apollo Hospitals has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with multiple national and international air ambulance operators. The partnerships are coordinated through Apollo’s 1066 Emergency Response Network, which will serve as the central access point for partner-enabled air ambulance transfers. The effort seeks to streamline patient movement, reduce costs, and minimise reliance on informal intermediaries that have traditionally complicated emergency medical transfers.

Streamlining Critical Care Access

Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals, said, “In critical situations, reaching the right hospital quickly can be life-saving. Our partnerships with specialised air ambulance providers make it easier for patients and families to access advanced care across cities and borders in a coordinated and transparent manner. By integrating our 1066 response network, patients benefit from clinical coordination and hospital preparedness, ensuring care is available when it is needed most.”

Apollo Hospitals has partnered with operators including Bluedot Charters and Air Ambulance Services (UAE), AeroMed International Rescue Services Pvt. Ltd., Jhankar Aviation Pvt. Ltd., iCATT Health Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Air Rescuers World Wide Pvt. Ltd., Vedant Air Rescue Pvt. Ltd., AeroCare Air Ambulance Service, Ayusewa Air & Train Ambulance, Air Medical 24X7 Pvt. Ltd., and Flaps Aviation Pvt. Ltd. The first phase of the initiative focuses on widening the availability of air ambulance support for high-acuity cases requiring rapid transfer to tertiary and quaternary care centres.

Advanced Care in Transit

Dr. Dhavapalani Alagappan, Clinical Director of Emergency Departments at Apollo Hospitals, emphasised the importance of care continuity during transfers: “Air ambulances are equipped with life-support systems, ventilators, defibrillators, and other advanced medical equipment. Critically ill patients receive intensive-care-level support throughout their journey, with a trained medical team and certified doctors providing continuous monitoring and interventions as needed.”

Efficient Coordination and Cost Management

Dr. Ramakrishna Vijay Varma, Chief Operating Officer of Healthcare Logistics at Apollo Hospitals, explained, “When a request is received on the 1066 helpline, our emergency response team assesses the patient, identifies the appropriate mode of transport, and coordinates with the partner operator, who manages aviation logistics. Recent users of the service have benefited from significant cost savings due to pre-negotiated rates and the elimination of middlemen.”

The initiative leverages Apollo’s nationwide 1066 network, combining emergency coordination, on-ground ambulance support, airport-to-hospital connectivity, and partner-operated air transfers. It provides bed-to-bed transfer support, improving response times and enabling patients from remote regions, Tier II and Tier III cities, and international locations to access advanced care seamlessly.
